TSTC Waco is currently seeking an Instructor of Web Design and Development. If you have a passion for making a difference in a student's career, have excellent communication skills, and the patience to guide students in preparing for college success, we urge you to apply for the following position.
The Instructor is principally charged with presenting prepared materials, supervising organized laboratory activities, maintaining order, recording student progress, and assuring the presence of adequate supplies and equipment to conduct the laboratory activities in a safe and effective manner.
Organize and present prepared instructional materials at scheduled times and places.
Preserve communications with students and colleagues to assure efficient and effective instruction.
Uphold records of student attendance, student progress, departmental supplies, departmental equipment, and others.
Maintain discipline and order during instructional activities.
Participate in normal program housekeeping activities.
Prepare daily instructional plans and instructional materials at the modular level as directed by the program chair. Assist in student recruiting and graduate placement.
Evaluate the progress and performance of the student and assign grades. Enforce the approved departmental rules and regulations in the classroom and lab; recommend student counseling, probation, or dismissal for excess absences, disruption of class, or lack of progress.
Initiate requisitions and work order requests.
Suspend unsafe operation.
Conduct research on related topics in order to maintain current industry standards.
Communicate subject material to students in an understandable and patience format.
Embrace an active learning environment.
Associate’s degree in a computer programming field. (Bachelor is preferred).
Three years recent and successful work experience in Web Design and Development and programming is required.
Work experience may be accepted in lieu of the Bachelor's degree.
